Javier Maldonado Pijoan I am a Radiation Oncologist with experience in GU and CNS cancers. I currently hold the position of clinical head and head of teaching in Radiotherapy Oncology at the Vall d'Hebron University Hospital. I am also responsible for the Quality Programs in this Service. I am currently the vice-president of the National Commission for Radiotherapy Oncology of the Ministry of Health. My research focus is on the interaction of androgen deprivation with radiotherapy in the setting of hypofractionation, as well as dose escalation. I also work in close collaboration with the departments of Urology and Medical Oncology in translational research (I am part of the Radiotherapy Oncology group of the VHIO). I have published more than fifty articles and am a reviewer for several international publications. I am a doctor in Medicine and an associate professor in the Department of Medicine at the UAB. Active member of URONCOR (Spanish Group for Research in Radiation Oncology and Genitourinary Tumors), GICOR (Spanish Group for Research in Radiation Oncology) and the Radiation Oncology and Genitourinary Groups of the European Organization for in Cancer Research and Treatment (EORTC). I am also a member of the European Society of Radiation Therapy and Oncology (ESTRO) and the American Society of Radiation Oncology (ASTRO).
