The CEIm at the Vall d'Hebron University Hospital was first established and accredited on 25 November, 1993 by the General Directorate of Health Resources of the Department of Health of the Generalitat of Catalonia in accordance with order dated 26 October, 1992.

On March 9th, 2022, the General Directorate of Health Resources of the Department of Health of the Generalitat of Catalonia renewed this accreditation as a CEIm.
