This certification pushes our system towards a more mature model, with defined processes, clear metrics and a real focus on impact.

VHIR has obtained ISO 56001:2024 certification, becoming the first biomedical research institution in Catalonia and one of the first institutions at a state level to obtain the new ISO 56001:2024 certification, which accredits excellence in innovation management.

This milestone recognizes our firm commitment to fostering a structured, sustainable and results-oriented innovation culture that adds value to society and the health system. The ISO 56001 standard establishes the requirements for an integrated innovation management system, aligned with international best practices.

Rafael Navajo, Director of Innovation at VHIR, highlights that "this certification not only recognizes the work we are doing, but also propels our system towards a more mature model, with defined processes, clear metrics and a real focus on impact. It is a step forward to consolidate innovation as a strategic axis of our institute."

This achievement would not have been possible without the collective effort of the entire VHIR team, as well as the continued support of our collaborators and institutions that accompany us on this path towards transformative research and innovation.

Thank you all for making it possible! We continue to innovate to transform the future of healthcare.
