Certification for quality management systems

The Vall d'Hebron University Hospital Biobank has been awarded the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems certification for research support services provided by the Biobank in obtaining, processing, storing, managing and providing biological samples for biomedical research.

Biobank Platform Quality Assurance

The Vall d'Hebron University Hospital Biobank coordinated and participated in the Biobank Platform Sample Quality Assurance Programme (Spanish Biobank Network) for the following sample types: DNA, frozen tissue and freezing tissue in OCT.
Controls were performed by random analysis of certain samples collected in 2019 and held at the Biobank. The results were optimal across all controls.
 

XBTC quality assurance

The tumour bank at the Vall d'Hebron University Hospital Biobank takes part in the quality assurance programme for tissue samples (tissue in OCT) at the Tumour Bank Network in Catalonia (XBTC). 
This is an annual control and comprises analysing three random samples from all those collected throughout the year.
