Business Development Area

Through the Vall d'Hebron Research Institute (VHIR), the Vall d'Hebron University Hospital has created its own innovation model, that allows the transfer of results from research to society and promotes the competitiveness of the hospital, by acting as an economic agent for development.

The Business Development Area is composed of the Innovation Unit.

Innovation Unit

The VHIR innovation strategy is based on the following:

Searching for business opportunities that lead to an investment in new research.
Start-up of new strategies to favour relationships with private and public industry, and encourage association during the initial stages of the research.
Cooperating with international partners that contribute to the positioning of the innovation of the VHIR at an international level and which allow it to make new contacts.
Searching for new tools to accelerate innovation.

The actions carried out by the Innovation Unit are, for example:

Financial evaluation and research of projects or market ideas.
Protecting the intellectual property strategy
Searching for public grants or private funding to continue developing technology that increases its value.
Searching for partners interested in technology (collaborative associations and technological intermediaries).
Business development.
Authorisations.
Creation of spin-off companies.
Training in innovation.

Team
