Purpose

This project aims to evaluate the composition of the microbiota in patients with intestinal disorders (inflammatory bowel disease) and their relatives in relation to different food groups.

As part of this project, we have published this survey with the purpose of collecting the necessary demographic information that will allow us to create a more tailored recruitment notice and achieve balanced participation of men and women in the different regions of the country.

For this reason, we invite you to participate in the survey found at this link (Microbiome study | Vall d'Hebron Barcelona Hospital Campus), which will allow us to send you more information about the project and how to take part in it.

Completing the form will not imply participation in the study. In the event that you do participate, you will be duly informed about the processing of your data.

Data collected and processing of the information

The data that may be collected through the platform are:

Email address: It will be used for the purpose of sending you information about the study that may be of your interest.
Gender, city and province of residence: This data will be processed for the purpose of creating a more tailored recruitment notice and achieving balanced participation of men and women in the different regions of the country.

The data collected in the survey comply with the minimisation principle established in Art. 4 of the GDPR and are necessary for the purpose of the survey.

If you complete this form, the research team may contact you to send you more information about the project, including the informed consent you will need to complete in order to participate.

Legal basis for data processing

The legal basis for processing the information is Article 6.1(a) of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 General Data Protection Regulation, which states that “the data subject has given consent to the processing of his or her personal data for one or more specific purposes”.

Data disclosure and international transfer

Your information will not be disclosed by the VHIR to third parties without your prior consent, except those necessary to fulfil the purpose of the Project or those required by applicable law. No international data transfers are foreseen.

If, once the research team has contacted you, you finally participate in the study, the study results may be published in scientific journals, conferences, etc. In any case, the results will be published anonymously and will never include your email address or any other data that would allow your identification.

Information retention period

If selected, your data will be retained for the time established in the research project (1 year).

If you are not selected to enrol in the project, your information will be properly deleted.

Rights

You may exercise your rights of access, rectification and erasure of your data, object to their processing, restrict processing, or request their portability in applicable cases, and not be subject to automated decisions, by sending a written, reasoned request, indicating the Project reference, to lopd@vhir.org.
