I hold a PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology with over 20 years of experience in research and scientific management. My career began in academia, investigating the molecular basis of cancer at prestigious institutions in Barcelona (University of Barcelona, UB), Philadelphia (Temple University), and Amsterdam (The Netherlands Cancer Institute). This stage provided me with a solid scientific background and an international perspective on the biomedical sector. Since 2010, I have developed my career in research management, specializing in competitive projects and institutional strategy. In 2013, I studied a Master’s degree in Leadership and Management of Science and Innovation (Barcelona School of Management, Pompeu Fabra University). That same year, I joined the Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG), where I coordinated European projects and led the Strategy and Funding Office, overseeing H2020 and Horizon Europe proposals as well as science policy initiatives. Since September 2023, I have been leading the Competitive Research Department at VHIR, managing the Pre-Award and Post-Award units and directing a team of 30 professionals to boost research funding and internationalization. I bring proven experience in leadership, coordinated consortium management, and training in project management. I have designed and delivered courses for scientists at PRBB and in master’s programs, contributing to the professionalization of science management. My goal is to continue driving impact in biomedical research through innovative strategies and international collaborations.
