The VHIR Communication Unit forms part of the Communication, Corporate Strategy and Citizen Assistance Department of the Vall d’Hebron Barcelona Hospital Campus and its main objective is to raise awareness of the research carried out at Vall d'Hebron, in all its areas and all its forms.  On the one hand, it explains to society, through its web page, social media and the media in general, the main scientific advances of its researchers, and the institution's milestones. It does so through press releases and conferences, interviews, videos and communication campaigns, as well as written and audiovisual informative material.

On the other hand, it internally communicates the research, publications and activities of our research personnel to the entire Campus, through internal communiques, the Internet and social media.

It also creates an essential institutional tool that annually audits the scientific production of the Vall d'Hebron Research Institute (VHIR), such as the multimedia version of the report.

It also contributes to the internationalisation of the institution through the production of all the information in English and forging a closer relationship with international media.

Lastly, it organises institutional events, scientific seminars, workshops and the annual conference, but it also carries out divulgation actions in order to bring what the researchers do at the VHIR closer to society. It does so by participating in fairs and organising open door events and other activities to allow society to get to know us and raise awareness, especially among the young.

The Fundarising, Strategic Alliances and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) unit drives and promotes a participation model by seeking the generosity of people, companies, foundations and public and private organisations that wish to provide financial support and invest in projects to improve the hospital. It identifies possible donors and sources of funding, and defines a strategy to capture funds and generate alliances for the Vall d’Hebron Barcelona Hospital Campus. 

It provides support to research personnel and assistance in their relations with donors and collaborating entities, shaping the portfolio of projects and the different possibilities of financial collaboration. It monitors the relationship with the donors, while at the same time working to grow the synergies between the funders and the institution.
