The Technology Infrastructure Unit addresses the IT needs of both the research staff and the research support units at VHIR, in terms of information technologies and IT infrastructure, and ensures the maintenance and development of VHIR’s technological tools and systems.

The Software Engineering Unit designs and implements digital solutions tailored to the research and management needs of VHIR.

The Statistics and Bioinformatics Unit (UEB) promotes the use and development of modern statistical and bioinformatics resources for research carried out within its remit.

The main objectives of the UEB are to:

• Provide statistical, methodological and bioinformatics support for clinical and biomedical research, mainly at our centre, but also to the rest of the community.
• Contribute to training in statistics and bioinformatics for clinical and biomedical research, through its own courses and participation in regulated training within the scope of the Vall d'Hebron Research Institute (VHIR).
• Carry out innovation and development activities in the area of statistics and bioinformatics, particularly where this may result in an improvement to the functions and services of the unit.

The Quality, Processes and Documentary Management Coordination is responsible for:

• Overseeing the implementation, monitoring and updating of the Quality Management System, in accordance with the ISO 9001 standard, of the certified units of the Vall d'Hebron Research Institute (VHIR). 
• Promoting the processes-based approach and its continuous improvement.
• Ensuring that the quality system of the units that provide support to clinical research fulfil the requirements of the Best Clinical Practices (BCP).
• Managing the implementation, monitoring and maintenance and update of the quality university-training system in accordance with the directives of the National Evaluation and Accreditation Agency and the Catalan Agency for University Quality (AQU), together with the Education and Training Unit.
• Coordinating the accreditation by the Carlos III Health Institute as a Health Research Institute.
• Overseeing the internal audits and the relationship with external entities for obtaining quality-related certifications and accreditations.
• Establishing and overseeing policies for the creation, administration, consultation and access to information and the conservation of documents. 
• Organising the professional career certificates and the suitability of the facilities for professional development.
