General and Infrastructure Services Unit The General and Infrastructure Services Unit (SGI) ensures the correct functioning of the laboratories and the maintenance of the buildings of the Vall d'Hebron Research Institute (VHIR). On one hand, it provides support for research personnel: Managing common areas Cleaning and sterilising laboratory material supplying personal protective equipment (PPE) for workers Providing logistics support with the receipt of goods Managing access permissions to buildings Overseeing the treatment of waste generated at the VHIR Overseeing technical assistance with the electrical medical equipment in the common areas and research groups On the other hand, it is responsible for the structural maintenance of the facilities: incidents, air conditioning, new installations, building work, transport and telephony, etc. It supports the administrative structure and manages the receptions of the two VHIR buildings. It is currently responsible for coordinating the construction of the new VHIR Research building.
