Anna Collado Gimbert

I am a medical specialist in pediatric hematology, with a focus on the care of patients with rare anemia disorders and other red blood cel disorders. I carry out my clinical work in the hospital setting, where I am responsible for the diagnosis, treatment, and comprehensive follow-up of children and adolescents with rare hematological diseases. I combine clinical activity with translational research, with a particular interest in the use of real-world data (Real World Data), the integration of national and European clinical registries, and the application of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence in the field of rare hematological diseases. In this context, I participate as a researcher in various European (Genomed4ALL, Synthema, and ERDERA) and international (HELIOS) projects focused on personalized medicine and improving health outcomes.

Graduated in Medicine from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (2014), I completed my MIR residency in Pediatrics at the Vall d'Hebron University Hospital (2015–2019), followed by a Fellowship in Pediatric Oncology, Hematology, and Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation at the same center (2019–2021).

Since 2021, I have worked as a Specialist in the Pediatric Oncology and Hematology Service at Vall d'Hebron University Hospital. In parallel, I work as a clinical reseracher in the Rare Anemias Laboratory, within the Childhood Cancer and Hematological Diseases Research Group at Vall d'Hebron Institute of Research (VHIR).

I have actively participated in the accreditation processes as a Center, Service, and Reference Unit (CSUR) for hereditary erythropathology at the national level, as well as in the accreditation of the Clinical Expertise Units Network (XUEC) in non-oncological hematological diseases.

I am a member of several scientific societies and working groups specialized in pediatric hematology including:
- Erythropathy Group of the Spanish Society of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology (SEHOP)
- Pediatric Hematology Working Group of the Catalan Society of Pediatrics
- Scientific Committee of the Spanish Registry of Hemoglobinopathies and Rare Anemias (REHem-AR SEHOP)
- European Hematology Association (EHA)
