Antonio Gil Moreno

Doctor of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Vall d'Hebron University Hospital. Professor of the Chair of Gynecology and Obstetrics at the Autonomous University of Barcelona since 2010 and Principal Investigator of the Biomedical Research Group in Gynecology. My involvement in clinical and translational research in endometrial cancer began in 1997. Currently, research is also carried out in ovarian cancer, endometriosis and cervical pathology. From here, and with the aim of improving the healthcare system, I have participated in 45 research projects, 20 of them as principal researcher. These projects have resulted in a total of 285 articles with an Impact Factor, 38 articles in national magazines, 37 book chapters, and 5 patents. Between directed and in progress, I accumulate a total of 35 doctoral theses.

Graduate in Medicine and Surgery in the Teaching Unit of the Vall d'Hebron Hospital. Medical specialist in Obstetrics and Gynecology (MIR), Hospital Residency between 1991 and 1994 at the Vall d'Hebron Maternity-Children's Hospital. Doctoral thesis presented in 2004 with an Excellent Cum Laude rating, and Extraordinary Doctorate Award from the Department of Paediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynecology and Preventive Medicine, of the UAB. Specialist in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Vall d'Hebron Maternal-Child Hospital, in the Oncological Gynecology Unit, from 1995 to 2010. Head of the Oncological Gynecology and Early Cancer Diagnosis Section at the Maternal-Child Hospital of the Vall Hebron Hospital from 2010 to 2013. Head of the HUVH Gynecology and Obstetrics Service from 2013 to 2024. Associate Professor of Gynecology and Obstetrics at the UAB from 2000 to 2010. Associate Professor at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona since 2010 to June 2023 and I have held the position of professor since then. Member of the Central Commission for Teaching at Vall d'Hebron (2005-2008). Director of the Master's Degree in Gynecological Endoscopy at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (2005-present). ASSOCIATE FELLOW of the European Society of Gynecological Oncology. Principal Investigator of the Biomedical Research Group in Gynecology. My involvement in clinical and translational research in endometrial cancer began in 1997. I have participated in 45 research projects, 20 of them as principal investigator, which have resulted in a total of 285 articles, 38 journal articles and 37 chapters of books, with an H index of 35. I have also participated as inventor of 5 patents. I have directed a total of 35 doctoral theses, of which 25 have already been defended, the remaining 10 are still in progress. Numerous oral presentations and oral communications, in the form of posters and in video format, international and national since 1992. Received 25 prizes awarded to communications presented at congresses and the Victor Conill and Montobbio Award from the Academy of Medical Sciences 2005 for the best work published in a scientific journal (Cancer Research). Reviewer of articles in the Gynecologic Oncology; European Journal of Cancer; Journal of Gynecologic Oncology; International Journal Gynecological Cancer; European Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology and Reproductive Biology; Journal of Medical Robotics and Computer Assisted Surgery; Journal of Minimally Invasive Gynecology, among others.

Among his tasks we find Director of the Department of Pediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Preventive Medicine and Public Health, since 2021, Director and coordinator of the Research Network of the Section of Oncology Gynecology and Breast Pathology of the Spanish Society of Oncology Gynecology (SEGO), since 2017, vicepresident Member of the Sección de Ginecología Oncológica y Patología Mamaria de la Sociedad Española de Ginecología Oncológica (SEGO), since 2017 and Member of the Internal Scientific Committee (CCI) of the VHIR since 2018.

In addition, I am accredited by ANECA and AQU as a university professor.
