Research lines

Functional MRI: development of protocols and analysis in different clinical situations

This research line aims to develop new biomarkers that capture brain function and can be implemented in the clinical routine.

IP: Deborah Pareto Onghena

Application of magnetic resonance imaging techniques to the study of migraine

The goal would be to assess the feasibility and the impact of new magnetic resonance sequences and image analysis tools in the characterization of patients with migraine.

IP: Deborah Pareto Onghena, Alex Rovira Cañellas

Application of magnetic resonance imaging techniques to the study of diabetes

The goal would be to assess the impact of diabetes on brain morphology, integrity and function through the advanced analysis of magnetic resonance images.

IP: Deborah Pareto Onghena, Alex Rovira Cañellas

Functional MR imaging: protocol development and image analysis

The capability of fMRI to detect cortical areas that activate when a specific task is being performed may be of great importance as a monitoring tool to determine the effect of the disease and assess the efficacy of therapies. We are currently working in the implementation of protocols for investigating motor, visual, and cognitive function as well as in the development of clinical applications for the resting-state paradigm.
