I have worked as a consultant psychiatrist in the Department of Psychiatry at Vall d’Hebron University Hospital since 2015. My clinical practice is hospital-based and focuses on the psychiatric care of patients with medical and surgical conditions. My work includes ongoing clinical interventions aimed at addressing recent and longstanding traumatic memories, as well as interventions focused on the prevention and promotion of mental health within the hospital setting. I hold a medical degree from the University of Valladolid and completed my specialist training in Psychiatry through the national MIR programme. I have postgraduate training as a Master in Legal Psychiatry from the Complutense University of Madrid and am a University Expert in Bipolar Disorder from the University of Barcelona. I have further training in psychosomatic psychiatry and consultation-liaison psychiatry at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital (London). I completed doctoral training in Psychiatry, initially at the University of Valencia, and developed my doctoral thesis at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, focused on the use of virtual reality as an adjunctive intervention for pain management in burn patients. I currently carry out my clinical, teaching and research activity at Vall d’Hebron University Hospital, with a practice oriented toward the psychiatric care of medically and surgically ill patients, the management of traumatic stress, and participation as a psychiatric reference in initiatives aimed at improving quality of care, clinical safety and person-centred healthcare.
