La Dra. Maria Meneghini es nefróloga en la Unidad de Trasplante Renal del Hospital Universitari Vall d’Hebron en Barcelona. Cursó los estudios de Medicina en la Università degli Studi di Milano, Italia (2011) y la especialidad en Nefrología en el Ospedale Policlinico di Milano, Italia (2017). Luego entró a formar parte del equipo de trasplante renal del Hospital Universitari de Bellvitge (Barcelona) y del grupo de investigación en inmunología del trasplante renal en el Instituto de Investigación Biomédica de Bellvitge IDIBELL (Barcelona) liderado por el dr Oriol Bestard. Realizó su doctorado en la Universitat de Barcelona UB entre 2018 y 2021, en el que se focalizó sobre el estudio de la memoria aloinmune celular y la incompatibilidad HLA donante/receptor a nivel molecular para mejorar la estratificación del riesgo inmunológico en el trasplante renal.
Desde febrero 2021 es adjunta de la unidad de Trasplante Renal del Hospital Universitari Vall d’Hebron donde ejerce como nefróloga e investigadora en proyectos clínicos y translacionales del grupo de investigación de trasplante renal en el Instituto de Investigación Vall d’Hebron (VHIR). Es autora de más que 20 artículos científicos en revistas internacionales indexadas y ha presentado numerosas comunicaciones en congresos nacionales e internacionales.
