Miriam de Nadal Clanchet

I have a degree in Medicine and Surgery and specialist in Anesthesiology and Intensive Care. I finished my PhD in 1998 and, since 1995, I have been working in the Anesthesiology and Intensive Care Department at Vall d'Hebron University Hospital. I am currently head of the Surgical Intensive Care Unit and associate professor at the UAB. My research area in perioperative medicine is integrated within the UNINN group, with the aim of exploring strategies for diagnosis, prevention, treatment and/or risk prediction in order to improve the clinical management of patients before, during and after the surgery This line of work focuses particularly on non-cardiac surgery, promoting advances to improve the care, management and recovery of surgical patients.

I have a degree in Medicine and Surgery and specialist in Anesthesiology and Intensive Care. Since 2005 I coordinate the Surgical Intensive Care Unit of the HUVH and my clinical fields of interest are perioperative medicine and hemodynamic monitoring in the critical patient. I am a member of the Critics Section of the Catalan Society of Anesthesiology (SCARTD) and the Intensive Care Section (SCI) of the Spanish Society of Anesthesiology (SEDAR). I have been an accredited Tutor of the specialty of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care (2004-2013) and Member of the Teaching Committee of the Catalan Society of Anesthesiology (2004-2009). I'm an Associate professor in the Department of Surgery of the Faculty of Medicine of the UAB and coordinator of the clinical simulation area of ​​the HUVH Teaching Unit. Director of doctoral theses and Professor in postgraduate Masters at the UAB and the UB. In relation to research, I am responsible at our center of international cooperative projects led by McMaster University (Canada) and research projects of the European Society of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care (ESAIC).
