Pilar Lusilla Palacios

I have a PhD in Medicine and I’m specialist in Psychiatry with more than 25 years of experience in the profession. I currently work in the Liaison Psychiatry unit of the Psychiatry Service at the Vall d'Hebron Hospital and I am a professor of Psychiatry at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. I am also one of the main researchers of the Psychiatry and addictions research group of the Vall d'Hebron Research Institute (VHIR). I belong to several scientific societies and I am a founding member of the Group in Spanish for work in motivational interviewing and a member of the board of directors of the international association of trainers in motivational interviewing (MINT).

Expert in the treatment of mental disorders, addictions and dual pathology among health professionals. Former coordinator of the admission Unit of the Integral care program for sick doctors. Professor of Psychiatry at the Autonomous University of Barcelona. Accredited trainer in motivational interviewing. Expert in the management of adherence to treatment in patients with chronic pathologies. He has carried out research as principal investigator with public and private competitive funding: MaratoTV3 (Project ESPELMA), FP-7 (www.thepreciousproject.eu) and H-2020 (www.socratesvr.eu) on the application of motivational interviewing in different areas: for improving patient satisfaction, improving adherence to treatment with the use of technology (mhealth and virtual reality) applied to behavior change and motivation towards healthy habits.
