I am currently the Head of the High Technology Unit of the VHIR, a preclinical research support unit where we offer different services in the areas of Genomics, Metabolomics, Cytomics and Microscopy, accompanied by highly specialized technological advice. We also organize and participate in technological training activities and science outreach in general. In 2000 I got a degree in Pharmacy from the University of Salamanca, and between 2000 and 2005 I completed my PhD at the Salamanca Cancer Research Center in the group of Dr. Xosé Bustelo. Later on, I became a “Sara Borrell” post-doctoral researcher in Dr. Joan Seoane’s research group at VHIO. In 2010 I joined VHIR’s High Technology Unit as a specialized technician in next-generation sequencing, and later I held the position of Head of Unit, becoming responsible for the management and coordination of this preclinical core-facility, a position in which I currently continue. Over the years, in the UAT we have launched new services both internally and externally, we have achieved an ISO9001: 2015 quality certification, we have developed an integrated digital environment for managing services and we keep on working in the continuous improvement of our services, as well as in the economic sustainability of the Unit.
