Reconstructive Surgery of the Locomotor System

The Reconstructive Surgery of the Locomotor System (CRAL) research group is a multidisciplinary team of clinical researchers including specialists in orthopedic surgery and traumatology, nurses and research staff.

The group's activity is based on the study of musculoskeletal problems with the aim of improving the outcome of surgical treatments, focusing our research  on the fields of traumatic injuries, bone septic disease and pathologies of the knee, hip, hand and shoulder.
Main objectives:

  • Develop and improve the medical and surgical approach of the orthopedic and trauma reconstructive techniques.
  • Achieve new knowledge and patient-centered solutions, improving their perioperative care and surgical results, through evidence-based surgery.
  • Consolidate an appropriate competitive scientific environment that promotes education and facilitates the training of research personnel.
  • Generate synergies and collaborations in the musculoskeletal field with other national and international research institutions.
