Resum:La infecció per VIH continua sent un problema de salut pública global. Amb una important càrrega de casos no diagnosticats. A Espanya, s’estima que unes 150.000 persones viuen amb el VIH, de les quals un 14% ho desconeixen. A més, gairebé la meitat dels diagnòstics es fan de manera tardana, fet que evidencia la necessitat de millorar les estratègies de detecció precoç. En aquest context, els serveis d’urgències hospitalàries (SUH) esdevenen una oportunitat clau per identificar casos ocults de VIH, ja que són uns dels primers punts de contacte amb el sistema sanitari pels pacients. Per abordar aquest problema, la Sociedad Española de Medicina de Urgencias y Emergencias (SEMES) i el Grupo Español de Sida (GESIDA) van elaborar un Document de Consens amb sis situacions clíniques on es recomana fer la prova del VIH des dels SUH. Tanmateix, la implementació d’aquestes recomanacions consensuades presenta dificultats, fet que ha motivat la creació de programes com Deja tu Huella, a escala estatal, i Urgències VIHgila, a Catalunya, per millorar l’aplicació d’aquestes directrius i a facilitar-ne el seu compliment. Aquests programes també exploren i avaluen com la participació activa d’infermeria pot contribuir a millorar els resultats.
