On October 28, 2010, for the third consecutive year, the Catalan Health Institute (ICS) organizes a research journey that will bring together researchers and researchers representing the nine research institutes linked to the health centers in the organization and will bring together the latest scientific developments. During the meeting also will be made public the winners of the third edition of Career Research Awards at ICS, who want to distinguish the task of professionals who have contributed significantly to the development of research in health sciences in the field of ICS and maintain a level of recognized scientific activity. In this year there will be an award for the research career in the field of hospital care and one on the conducted research career in primary care network of ICS. The aim of these awards is to encourage and recognize the high quality biomedical research, preclinical and clinical, carried out in the ICS.One of the conferences of the day, 'New perspectives in the pathophysiology and treatment of diabetic retinopathy', will be lectured by Dr. Rafael Simó, head of the Research in Diabetes and Metabolism at VHIR. VHIR's director, Dr. Joan Comella, participate in the roundtable moderated by Dr. Miquel Gomez Clarés, Secretary of Strategy and Coordination, Department of Health .
