On December 2nd and 3rd took place VHIR's 4th Scientific Meeting at the Auditorium of the Teaching Unit of the Vall d'Hebron University Hospital (HUVH). For the current edition over 50 works were selected, coming from residents, pre-doctoral and postdoctoral researchers. Presentations started December 2nd at 9am. The pre-doctoral winner was Rocco Mazzolini, from the research group CIBBIM - Nanomedicine Molecular Oncology with the title 'Myo1a has tumor supressor activity in intestinal tumors'. The second award of the same category was for Alba González, from the gene expression and cancer group, with the title 'Study of the role of Runx1 in Gliobastoma'.For the residents, the winner was Purificación Pérez, from Clinical critical care group with the title 'Altos flujos de gas en pacientes con insuficiencia cardíaca estable'.The postdoctoral award was for Nicolás Fissolo, from the clinical neuroimmunology group with the title 'El tratamiento con vacunas de ADN que codifican para MOG previene y mejora la encefalomielitis autoinmune experimental'.On December 3rd at noon the hospital hosted the 14th Conferència Anual of the HUVH, with Prof. Michel Ovize, as guest speaker. Prof. Ovize is Director of the Cardioprotection Unit at the Institut national de la santé de la recherche médicale (INSERM).
