18/11/2010 ADCAN's charity race collaborates with VHIR 18/11/2010 ADCAN, dog training association, organized on October 3rd in Viñayo (Leon) a charity race, called ‘Los Calderones', with the aim of raising funds to support the fight against pediatrics cancer. The benefits of the donations will go to Vall d'Hebron Research Institute (VHIR), specifically to research conducted by the team of Dr. Sánchez de Toledo, head of Pediatrics Oncology and Hematology.The charity race 'Los Calderones', which consists of pedestrian, child and cross for dogs, is an initiative organized by Luis Alberto Barriguín, ADCAN’s director, and is characterized by cross-country hills typical of this area of Leon. ADCAN intends to continue the charity race in the next years. Recently, Luis Alberto Barriguín, along with Juan Fernandez, another ADCAN's member, visited the Department of Pediatric Oncology and Hematology with Dr. Sánchez de Toledo, and the Translational Research Laboratory and Pediatrics Oncology of VHIR with Dr. Josep Roma, to see how the donations of individuals and entities like them are transformed into improvements for hospitalized children and their families, as well as support cancer research that affects children.
