Accompanied by his wife, they have been able to see first hand about the needs of hospitalized babies and their parents and support the campaign "Amb tu, com a casa", of which they are sponsors.

Thursday, January 18, Andrés Iniesta, FC Barcelona football player, and his wife, Anna Ortiz, have visited the Neonatology Service of the Mother and Child Hospital Vall d'Hebron to support the campaign https://ambtucomacasa.com/?_ga=2.197007660.1032692210.1516288812-904268569.1507116995 "Amb tu, com a casa", promoted by "La Caixa" Bank Foundation. This campaign aims to raise 880,000 euros to create a new Advanced Neonatology Centre. The new centre will make available to the parents, family rooms for exclusive use, with all the necessary equipment so that they can be trained to assist the needs of their children and take care of their healing. Therefore, the project will enhance the inclusion of families as part of the team that cares for the baby. The Vall d'Hebron Neonatology Service is one of the pioneers in this type of approach, and is one of the only two centres in the country accredited for NIDCAP(R) training (a model for the individualized care of the baby, skin-to-skin, centred on neurodevelopment). After visiting the Neonatology Service and talking with those responsible for the service and some of the parents with newborn babies, Andrés Iniesta pointed out that "both my wife and I are very happy that Vall d'Hebron counts with us for this initiative. When you are a parent, you are all more motivated, and for this reason, we are very much motivated by the parents of premature babies. We are very grateful to be part of this great family. "For her part, Dr. Anna Ochoa, Care Director of the Vall d'Hebron University Hospital, pointed out that, thanks to the new Advanced Neonatology Centre, it will be easier "to turn parents into caregivers, as they will be able to coexist with their baby at the hospital as if they were at home. The inclusion of families in the care team and skin-to-skin contact are essential in improving the evolution of preterm infants and reducing possible sequelae." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KRWuxu2LzAg Andrés Iniesta and his wife, Anna Ortiz, sponsor the campaign and have made a video of support in which they encourage the citizens and companies that wish to make their contributions through the web ambtucomacasa.comhttp://ambtucomacasa.com/ , the crowdfunding platform https://www.migranodearena.org/ migranodearena.com and through the https://www3.caixabank.es/apl/donativos/index_es.html Caixa Bank donation portal, or by purchasing http://uttopy.com/categoria-producto/colecciones/born-to-be-extraordinary/ Uttopy T-shirts with the motto #BornToBeExtraordinary, which is also the label of the campaign on social networks. The aim of promoting care focused on the development of the baby and his family began in Vall d'Hebron 15 years ago, with great results both in the improvement of the survival index and in the reduction of the sequelae of newborns with difficulties. The new centre, which will be a new important step in the project, will be the result of the restructuring of a part of the facilities of the Neonatology Service. The Intermediate and Basic Care Unit, which is currently on the second floor of the Mother and Child Hospital, will move to the semibasement plant, in an area of about 500 m2, which will be in direct communication with the ICU and Neonatal Semicrithics.
