The town of Otero de las Dueñas, located in León, will host on Sunday 14 the 5th edition of this race, sponsored this year by the ultra-endurance athlete "http://salvacalvo.blogspot.com.es/" Salvador Calvo. This week, the athlete from León visited children with cancer admitted to Vall d’Hebron University Hospital to explain to them what makes him run in races of more than 150km: “I wanted to explain my spirit of resistance, the importance of never give up despite all the suffering and the problems that always appear. And to resist, we need something that it is disappearing in our society: a lot of patience”. Salvador Calvo came to Barcelona with one of the organizers of the race, Juan Antonio Fernández, who described why they organize ‘Los Calderones’ every year: “The first time we visited VHIR with our modest donation, we had a great surprise. Children received us with such a big smile that this is what drive us to organize the race every year. Like in every edition, funds collected will be delivered to the Translational Research Unit in Child Cancer, led by Dr. Josep Sánchez de Toledo, who thanks to the society all the support that his unit receives to advance in the fight against this disease.
