Carmen Vela closes VHIR's 'Women and Science'

Carmen Vela, Secretary of State for Research, Development and Innovation of the Spanish Government, closed today the cycle 'Women and Science' at Vall d'Hebron Research Institute (VHIR) with a conference in which has revised the principal intentions of her department related to science in Spain, as well as the situation of women in the world of the investigation in Spain and Europe.The act has counted with the presence of the Research General Director of the Catalan Government, Josep M. Martorell, the responsible of investigation and Innovation of the Catalan Health Department, Marta Aymerich, and several important directors and researchers from other research centers. VHIR's director, Dr. Joan Comella, has introduced the conference of the Secretary of State, called 'Situation and actions in Spain and Europe'.The cycle 'Women and Science' was inaugurated by a conference of Dr. Margarita Salas and continued with a round table on challenges and opportunities and a coaching workshop from consultants accredited by the European Commission.
