Welcome to the summary of five years committed to people's health. In this document, you will find a compilation of most of the advances accomplished at Vall d'Hebron Institute of Research (VHIR) during the period 2011-2015, in which our Strategic Plan was developed. We have taken a great number of measures, have improved our results and reached most of our targets in research, economic sustainability, innovation, transferring knowledge to society, competence, internationalization, alliances, attraction of talent, excellence in activities and processes, new structures and organization, sustainability and social responsibility. This is the story of how our researchers and our administrative and technical support staff helped VHIR to become a leading center in biomedical research in Catalonia and Spain, and how together we have placed our institution in a privileged position to face the period 2016-2020 of the new Strategic Plan.
