Cemcat researchers shared in Copenhagen the results of their studies

The Danish city of Copenhagen hosted from the 2nd to the 5th of October the 29th edition of the European Committee for Treatment and Research in Multiple Sclerosis Congress ( "http://www.ectrims-congress.eu/#&panel1-1" ECTRIMS), which coincided with the 18th Annual conference of Rehabilitation in Multiple Sclerosis ( "http://www.eurims.org/" RIMS). The director of the Catalan Center of Multiple Sclerosis (Cemcat), head of the Neuroimmunology group at Vall d’Hebron Institute of Research (VHIR) and vice-president of the congress, Dr. Xavier Montalban, represented the group with more scientific communications in the congress.A total of 21 poster communications and 4 oral presentations where presented by VHIR researchers, all of them related to basic research, diagnosis, drug response, magnetic resonance, home care and quality of life in rehabilitation. More than 8.000 experts in multiple sclerosis from all around the world joined the European congress, which tackle the latest advances in diagnosis, treatments and symptomatic aspects such as pain, depression, spasticity and difficulty walking, among other topics. Thus, in the annual conference, participants discussed the neuropsychological challenges in multiple sclerosis and the new perspectives of the treatment with exercises.
