All recent studies of progression markers and imaging, among others, have been confirming that early and definitive diagnosis is critical to control the evolution and prognosis of the disease. The objective is to start treatment as soon as possible, which can slow the progression of this neurodegenerative disease. An article published in the prestigious medical journal Annals of Neurology redefines the current diagnostic criteria, in use since 2001 (revised 2005) and incorporates many of the findings made during the past two years by researchers of VHIR/CEM-Cat, positioning this team as a reference in this disease, both in Spain and among the most active scientific experts worldwide.
