21/09/2012 Dementia Symposium in the Alzheimer World Day at Vall d'Hebron 21/09/2012 This year has been focused on the update on the diagnosis and the managing of Alzheimer disease. In the frame of the Alzheimer World Day, the Service of Neurology and Dementia's Unit at Vall d'Hebron University Hospital and Fundación ACE. Barcelona Alzheimer Treatment and Research Center, have organized for the eighth straight year the Dementia Symposium.In this edition, coordinated by Dr. Mercè Boada, head of the Alzheimer group at VHIR and director of ACE, the symposium has been focused on the update on the diagnosis and the managing of Alzheimer disease and has counted with the participation of professional experts of the areas of Neurology, Psychiatry, Neuropsychology, research and Social Work that have spoken on the new diagnostic criteria, biomarkers in blood, on the pharmacological treatment, managing of the disorders of the conduct, controversies of the cognitive stimulation, as well as the social aspects of dementia.
