Dr. Ávila, member of VHIR's CCE, new director of CIBERNED

Dr. Jesús Avila, member of the External Scientific Council (CEC) of Vall d'Hebron Research Institute (VHIR) has been chosen as the new director of Biomedical Network Research Center in Neurodegenerative Diseases (CIBERNED). Dr. Avila's work focuses on the study of neurodegenerative processes of Alzheimer's disease. He is director of the Center for Molecular Biology Severo Ochoa, is also Research Professor at the CSIC and Member of Royal Academy of Exact, Physical and Natural Sciences.Former President of the Spanish Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, SEBBEM, Member of Editorial Board: EMBO, Int. J. Develop. Biology, FEBS Lett., Neurobiol. Aging, J.Alz. Dis., Cell. Mol. Life Sci. His studies has been published in international journals such as Nature, Cell or J Cell Biol.
