Dr. Joan Pere Barret, head of the Plastic Surgery and Burns Service at Vall d'Hebron University Hospital, has been appointed vice-president of the http://euroburn.org/ European Burns Association until September 2017 and elected president for the period 2017-2019, in the 16th congress of the association, which took place in Hannover, Germany, from the 16th to the 19th of September.At this congress, VHIR's researcher chaired several workshops on reconstruction, hand reconstruction, and electric and chemical burns. He also presented the results of two European multi-centered clinical trials (BSG-II and BSH-II), coordinated by him, about the security and efficacy of a new treatment of oleogel, called Betulina, that accelerates the healing of burns and injuries.As a president of the European association, Dr. Barret will chair the http://www.eba2017.org/en/Home_10_6_12.html" 17th edition of the congress that will take place from the 6th to the 9th of September of 2017 at the Barcelona congress center.
