Dr. Boada on 'Els Matins de TV3’

Dr. Mercè Boada, Alzheimer’s group leader at Vall d'Hebron Institut de Recerca (VHIR) and coordinator of the ACE Foundation, participated on 28 April in the symposium 'The dilemma of the families of patients in vegetative state', which took place in the program Els Matins de TV3. In the discussion also participated, among others, Antoni Verdaguer, director of the film 'To die without dying', which was previewed on April 29. Verdaguer previously directed the documentary 'The last right', theme of the new film, which deals about death with dignity and euthanasia, and in which participates Dr. Boada.Dr. Boada is author and editor of the book 'Paper Sitges. Ability to make decisions during the course of dementia: Reflections, rights and assessment proposals’, a document as a clinical guideline which focuses on the measures of social and legal protection to prevent total disability as a single and easy solution to the loss of cognitive skills. That fosters the idea of progressive partial disability to face specific situations and advocate for decisions that consider not only one facet of the disease process but also the social environment and circumstances to preserve and maintain the autonomy of the person as long as possible. On April 26 Dr. Boada also appeared in the health informative talk of Mataró Radio 'I. .. com estàs de salud?’ where she talked about Alzheimer's disease and the comic book of which she is the author 'Qué tiene el abuelo?’ aimed at children and young people with this problem.In addition, Dr. Boada will intervene on 6 May at the tv show ‘Millennium’ of Canal 33, which this week addresses the issue of aging.
