It is a document that facilitates that the medical community has guidelines agreed for a correct diagnosis of Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis. Thus, the current Guidelines have redefined the microscopic patterns of usual interstitial pneumonia and the diagnostic patterns of Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF) in computerized tomography. "Recommendations have been made on the use of bronchoalveolar lavage and on the indications for lung biopsy," he adds. It deals with the technique to be used and the classification of High Resolution Computed Tomography (HCT) images, the convenience or not of determining specific IgG and antiwoven antibodies, as well as the possible determination of certain markers, among other aspects. It also emphasizes the convenience of multidisciplinary discussion among the various specialists with the aim of clarifying the diagnosis of IPF as much as possible. The Guide will soon be published in the https://www.atsjournals.org/journal/ajrccm" American Journal Respiratory Critical Care Medicine to replace the previous Guide, which dated from 2011.
