He explained the clinical aspects of this disease and how useful is electrical stimulation in treatment

Dr. Josep Gámez, head of the resesarch group on peripheral nervous system at Vall d'Hebron Institute of Research (VHIR). has participated on 19th and 20th of October in the third congress of hereditary spastic paraparesis that has taken place in Madrid in the frame of 10th anniversary of the Spanish Association of hereditary spastic paraparesis. During his intervention, Dr. Gámez spoke about the clinical aspects of this disease and how useful is electrical stimulation in treatment.Apart from this, TVE's show 'Informe Semanal' explained recently the history of people known as 'Children of polio' that 50 years ago suffered the consequences of this disease. These children are now adults and have been fighting against the marginalization all their life. Now, coinciding with a photographic exhibition that portrays them, the tv program reviews their stories of those children and their present problems. One of them, the post-polio syndrome, a disease in which is working Dr. Gámez.
