Dr. Guarner at the International Human Microbiome Congress

Last week Human Microbiome research has brought together scientists from all around the world to discuss new findings, their impacts and the future trends at the International Human Microbiome Congress organized by MetaHIT at Palais Brongniart, Paris. "http://www.metahit.eu/paris2012" http://www.metahit.eu/paris2012This event has unified the two main Human Microbiome Consortiums: the Human Microbiome Project (USA, NIH initiative) and MetaHIT (European initiave) but also scientists from China, Japon and Canada. Dr. Francisco Guarner, from the Phisiology and pathophisiology of the digestive tract group at Vall d'Hebron Research Institute (VHIR), belonging to the MetaHIT consortium, presented the last findings on the association between human microbiome and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).
