Dr. María José Soler becomes the first Spanish researcher in history to be part of the editorial committee of the ASN Kidney News.

Dr. María José Soler, a nephrologist at the University Hospital Vall d'Hebron Nephrology Service, has recently been appointed to the editorial committee of the American Society of Nephrology (ASN) Kidney News. In this way, Dr. Soler, who was already part of the board of directors of the ERA-EDTA (European Renal Association-European Dialysis and Transplant Association) becomes the first Spanish researcher in the history of the scientific society that is part of this editorial committee. Furthermore, it is currently also the only European. The rest of the publishers are from the United States, India and South Korea. The American Society of Nephrology is the world's largest professional association dedicated to the study of kidney disease. Comprised of more than 15,000 doctors and scientists, ASN promotes expert patient care, advances medical research, and educates the kidney community. Kidney News, meanwhile, is its monthly magazine that covers news of great interest to the entire community, identifying emerging trends in this specialty that may interest the doctors. In this sense, Dr. Soler has highlighted the importance of the dissemination of this specialty for the new generations, since "this type of publication allows the increase in the dissemination of knowledge of Nephrology"."I want to take advantage of this appointment to guide the younger doctors who do not know our specialty", she added. "And, in this way, encourage them to decide to take Nephrology, a very complete and dynamic specialty that treats people with kidney diseases: clinical nephrology, transplantation and dialysis".
