Dr. Rafael Simó talks about diabetes and the EUROCONDOR Project

Coinciding with the Diabetes World Day, he has been interviewed at 'Parliament Magazine' and 'Catalunya Ràdio'

Coinciding with the Diabetes World Day, 'Parliament Magazine', the official publication of the European Union, highlights the clinical trial that scientists will start this November in the "http://www.vhir.org/salapremsa/mitjans/mitjans_detall.asp?Idioma=en&mv1=5&mv2=1&mh1=0&mh2=0&mh3=0&mh4=0&ms=0&any=2011&num=95" EUROCONDOR Project to determine the safety and effectiveness of a new therapeutic treatment to combat diabetic retinopathy. It consists in eye drops that could reach the retina and open a new strategy to treat the early stages of this diabetes’ complication. Dr. Rafael Simó, head of Diabetes and Metabolism research group at VHIR, leads this "http://www.vhir.org/salapremsa/noticies/noticies_detall.asp?Idioma=en&mv1=5&mv2=3&mh1=0&mh2=0&mh3=0&mh4=0&ms=0&any=2012&num=69" project in which participate 18 hospitals from 8 European countries. In Catalonia, according to the ESCA health survey, nearly half million people suffer diabetes. About this situation, the different types of diabetes and the advices for not contracting the disease, Dr. Simó talked in the show of Catalunya Radio ‘El Cafè de la República’.
