Four professionals and a medical team from Vall d'Hebron receive the COMB Professional Excellence Awards

The College of Doctors of Barcelona has distinguished the exemplary trajectory and the quality in the medical activity of the winners

A total of 51 doctors and five care teams from the Barcelona counties have been distinguished with the Professional Excellence Awards of the Col.legi de Metges de Barcelona (COMB). Among them, four professionals and a medical team from Vall d'Hebron, who combine the care work with the research at the Vall d'Hebron Research Institute (VHIR). The awards ceremony took place yesterday, November 21st, at the Museu Marítim of Barcelona. This year, the award ceremony of the Professional Excellence Awards coincided with the commemoration of the 125th anniversary of the foundation of the Barcelona Medical Association.The Professional Excellence Awards are awarded annually since 2004 according to juries made up of renowned doctors and doctors and are the recognition of the medical profession to professionals and healthcare teams that have stood out for an exemplary career of maximum quality exercise and for the enrichment of the values that make up medical professionalism. The COMB Awards recognize trajectories based on honesty, commitment, altruism, integrity, good work and excellence.The Vall d'Hebron winners are:In the field of hospital care, Dr. Vicenç Falcó, doctor of the Infectious Diseases Service of the Vall d'Hebron University Hospital and researcher of the Vall d'Hebron Research Institute's Infectious Diseases Group (VHIR).In the field of medical education, Dr. Mònica Rodríguez, Deputy Director of the Teaching Directorate of Vall d'Hebron University Hospital.In the field of biomedical research, Dr. Soledad Gallego, until a few months ago, Vall d'Hebron Pediatric Oncology and Pediatric Hematology Service. He is the head of the Translational Research Group on VHIR Childhood and Adolescence Cancer.In the field of humanities, cooperation and management, Dr. Martí Vall, from the Unit for Infections of Sexual Transmission at the Center for International Health and Communicable Diseases Drassanes-Vall d'Hebron.Within the section of healthcare teams, the Intensive Care Unit of Neurotraumatology, led by Dr. Marcelino Baguena, head of the Intensive Care Services of Traumatology of Vall d'Hebron and researcher of the Unit of Research in Neurotraumatology and Neurosurgery (UNINN) of the VHIR.
