Children and adults enjoyed science with the experiments designed by VHIR researchers

Despite the sun, the summer heat, and the closeness to the beach, the stand of Vall d’Hebron Institute of Research (VHIR) at the Festa de la Ciència i la Tecnologia was full of children and adults interested in both activities, on Saturday and Sunday. All of them became scientists for a day, enjoying science with the experiments that the Institute brought to Parc de la Ciutadella. This success hadn’t been possible without the collaboration of VHIR researchers, who with their enthusiasm and their commitment to show the funny and interesting side of science, captured the attention of the public. Cristina Frias, Nuria Piedra, Thais Cornejo, Patricia Bogdanov and her daughter Dafna, thanks for your collaboration! The public who participated in the activities of the Institute should be able to explain now which is the pH of saliva after eating a lemon and a lollypop, why do caries appear, what is a protein, what are their functions and how they are quantified in the lab, and how using a micropipette. In this 7th edition of the Festa de la Ciència i la Tecnologia, organized by the city council of Barcelona, participated more than 100 institutes and centers which everyday generate innovative and excellence research.
