The Gunnar Nilsson's Cancer Foundation visits the Vall d'Hebron Research Institute

Members of the Gunnar Nilsson's Cancer Foundation have visited the Vall d’Hebron Research Institute (IR-HUVH) to meet the members of the Laboratory of Hormone-dependent Cancers at the Biomedical Research Unit (URB).Gunnar Nilsson was a Swedish F1 racing driver who died of testicular cancer in 1978. After his death, his mother, Elisabeth Nilsson, created the Gunnar Nilsson's Cancer Foundation. Members of the Foundation usually visit the most important Research Institutes related with cancer.After Dr. Joan X. Comella, director of the Institute, welcomed them at the beginning of the day, the meeting continued with the presentation of both institutions. Anders Bjartell presented the Gunnar Nilsson's Cancer Foundation, while Jaume Reventós did it with the URB. After that, Anna Ruiz-Nel·lo made a general overview of the gynaecologic oncology projects at the URB, while Andreas Doll did the same for the urological oncology projects. Jaume Reventós closed the speech talking about the Translational Research and Innovation in a Hospital environment in Barcelona, Catalonia and Spain.The day continued with the Institute and finished with a meeting of the Board of the Gunnar Nilsson's Foundation.
