The Innovation Unit of Vall d'Hebron Research Institute has been awarded the label TECNIO facilitators granted by the Government of Catalonia, through ACCIó to identify entities that facilitate access to technology, helping companies meet technology that generates its scientific environment.The VHIR is added to the list of TECNIO facilitator entities which are the offices of technology transfer that, located in the main Catalan universities, provide companies with a portfolio of technologies developed in its technological and scientific environment ready to be marketed.In this call, Vall d'Hebron Research Institute (VHIR) has been the only Health Research Institute that has obtained the TECNIO label.Obtaining the label TECNIO provides VHIR several benefits such as the use of the TECNIO trademark as a badge of excellence in technology transfer, visibility across the ACCIó web page and of other instruments, or participation in networking activities, among others. VHIR's Innovation UnitThe innovation unit of VHIR is made up of highly qualified staff with extensive experience in innovation and technology transfer, both in private institutions as well as research ones.Among its actions, the economic evaluation and research projects or market ideas, the search of public and private funding helps to continue developing technology that increases its value, or training in innovation, among others. TECNIO LabelsTECNIO is the label awarded by the Generalitat de Catalunya, through ACCIó, to identify where is the most innovative technology. There are two types of organizations accredited with the label TECNIO:Developers: entities that generate new technology, and transfer it to the company, either through the completion of R & D projects, or from the direct marketing of developed technologies.Facilitators: organizations that facilitate the access to technology, helping businesses to learn about the technology that is generated in its scientific and technical environment. Transfer offices that provide companies with a portfolio of technologies.The aim is to facilitate Catalan businesses access to strategic partners that enable them to solve their technology challenges and, through this technology transfer, increase the number of innovative companies and make Catalonia a region leader in innovation on a European scale.
