14/07/2020 La Unitat d’Estadística i Bioinformàtica del VHIR obté un ajut per a projectes de valorització i transferència de resultats de recerca 14/07/2020 The grant from the General Secretariat for Research for emerging technologies groups to carry out valorization project and research results transfer, will go to the EGA Valorization for Industry and Society (VEIS) project. Dr. àlex Sanchez, head of the Statistics and Bioinformatics Unit (UEB) of the Vall d'Hebron Research Institute (VHIR) has received a grant from the General Secretariat for Research to finance the project "Valorization of EGA for Industry and Society (VEIS)", coordinated by Pompeu Fabra University. These grants are given by the General Secretariat for Research, the Ministry of Business and Knowledge and the Research Directorate. The call was opened for the allocation of FEDER co-financing to emerging technologies groups to carry out projects for the valorization and transfer of research results. The aim of the call is to carry out projects for the valorization and transfer of results of frontier knowledge or research in general, to accelerate the introduction of new products or disruptive processes to the market or to generate significant social benefits. Furthermore, this project is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (FEDER) of the European Union within the framework of the Operational Program FEDER of Catalonia 2014-2020.Title: Valorization of the European Genome-Phenoma Archive (EGA) for Industry and Society (VEIS)Aim: The VEIS project aims to develop, promote and manage a series of computational tools to allow easy access to EGA and the datasets stored in this archive. In addition, existing technologies will also be connected and adapted to facilitate their use in data stored in EGA, creating the Barcelona Computational Biomedical Platform (BCBP).BCBP is the technological platform for analysis and interpretation of omics and clinical data around the EGA database, and is the centerpiece of the VEIS project. The platform will be developed by the bioinformatics research groups of the entities participating in the project. Twitter LinkedIn Facebook Whatsapp
