María José Buzón enters the ranking of Las Top 100 Mujeres Líderes

VHIR's researcher has been selected for her research on effective therapies to eliminate the HIV virus in the human body.

Dr. María José Buzón, researcher of the Infectious Diseases group of the Vall d'Hebron Institute of Research (VHIR), has been chosen to take part of the http://www.lastop100.com/" The Top 100 Women Leaders. This initiative, promoted by the platform http://mujeresycia.com/" Mujeres y Cía, recognizes the talent of women with the intention of building a society based on equality. The list of members represents 10 different fields: the scientist is within the category of researchers and academics.Dr. José María Buzón entered the ranking thanks to her research on effective therapies that eliminate the HIV virus in the human body. She currently develops the study "Identification of viral latency reactant acting in long life TCD4 lymphocyte cells as a therapy to treat HIV infection" at VHIR.In addition to this latest recognition, in 2015 the doctor was one of the five winners of the Tenth Edition of the "Borses de Recerca" program of L'Oréal-UNESCO "For Women in Science" in Spain and recently received one of the 15 scholarships of International Rising Talent, a program also boosted by L'Oréal-UNESCO.
