29/06/2011 Marina Rigau, 'Joan Vives 2010' scientific communication prize 29/06/2011 Marina Rigau, member of the Research Unit of Biomedical and Translational and Pediatric Oncology at Vall d'Hebron Institut de Recerca (VHIR), has won the prize for science communication 'Joan Lluís Vives 2010' in Basic Sciences, Health Sciences, engineering and architecture for the article 'Prostate cancer, prevention is better than cure'. Since 1999, Vives Network call the annual awards of Science Communication "Joan Lluís Vives", with the aim of encouraging the communicative skills of doctoral students. In collaboration with the Chair of the Popularization of Science of the University of Valencia and supported by the CAM, the call is addressed to PhD students with registered thesis not defended. The theme of the article submitted must concern the same argument of the thesis and the jury assesses the incidence and especially the scientific and social interest of the investigation. The jury is made up of teachers from the universities of the network and other professionals related to the scope of the prize.
