Researchers will debate the start of the art of dual disorders as one of today’s main mental health challenges, and the susceptibility of developing addictions. The health care assistance to patients with dual pathology is a challenge for national health systems. Spain is a reference in the study of this disorder that describes the development of an addictive disorder simultaneously with other mental disorder. Experts estimate that 7 out of 10 patients who visit the doctor for an addictive behavior (such as pathological gambling and eating disorders) might be diagnosed of another psychopathological disorder. Dr. Casas will talk about the link of dual pathology with traffic accidents and school failure, which are topics that are being investigated at VHIR and will be presented soon. On the other side, Dr. Carlos Roncero, researcher at Vall d’Hebron, will present the safety of new treatments in Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). The congress is organized by the Spanish Society in Dual Pathology. Twitter LinkedIn Facebook Whatsapp
