The talk, Endoscopic Surgery in Newborns and Infants. Thoracoscopic repair of esophaegeal atresia, forms part of in the training course of pediatrics and pediatric surgery endorsed by Vall d'Hebron Institute of Research.Patkowski is a recognized surgeon, experienced in minimally invasive surgery, who had developed some own surgical techniques such as PIRS (percutaneous internal ring suture) which is one of the main alternative ways to treat inguinal hernia in pediatric patients. At the same time, he is one of the most experienced surgeons in the treatment of esophageal atresia via thoracoscopy, with more than 120 cases treated.His visit at Vall d'Hebron cause a great expectation among the professionals who followed his conference. Moreover, on 15th of December, Dr. Patkowski performed several surgical operations with PIRS technique to patients with inguinal hernia.
