The Paediatric Onco-hematology Service at Vall d’Hebron University Hospital, led by Dr. Josep Sánchez de Toledo, head of the Translational Research in Child Cancer group at Vall d’Hebron Institute of Research (VHIR), has been recognized with the "http://www.premiosbic.com/" Best in Class Award for its quality in terms of health care to patients. Best Class Awards are organized by the medical newspaper Gaceta Médica and the Innovation and Health Management Care Chair at Rey Juan Carlos University, with the aim to recognize the best hospital, primary health care center and public or private Spanish services or units. Prizes are awarded according to an index, specifically designed for this occasion, based on a multiple analysis taken from the hospitals and primary health care centers. In the same edition, Parc Sanitari Sant Joan de Déu has received the best internal medicine award, Hospital Clínico, the best neonatology unit, and Hospital Parc Taulí, the best emergency service.
