The American Congress of Radiology RSNA '2017 and the http://www.auntminnie.com/index.aspx?sec=rca&sub=rsna_2017&pag=dis&itemid=119141" Aunt Minnie magazine outstand the work on Pediatric Radiology lead by the Dr. Joaquim Piqueras Pardellans, from the Pediatric Radiology Service of the Diagnostic Imaging of the Vall d'Hebron Campus. The work is based on the weight estimation and the gestational age in premature babies, data that can be extracted by measuring the first radiographic image of the thorax. It is an original research that brings a new and simple method to estimate the gestational age, the weight and how severe the prematurity of the babies are according to their thorax size, obtained by radiographic images (X-rays).This technique is already being used at Vall d'Hebron Hospital, as it generates fast information according to the gestational age of the babies, which is essential for a first diagnosis in critically ill babies that usually do not have clinical information available. The researcher in charge of presenting the work in Chicago next 26th of November is the Hospital's resident. Joan - Albert Prat Matifoll, from the team of the Department in Diagnostic Imaging. Twitter LinkedIn Facebook Whatsapp
