A team led by Dr. Fernando Azpiroz, from Vall d'Hebron Research Institute (VHIR) is developing a research project that aims to demonstrate the ability of foods to improve digestive comfort and pleasurable sensations in the body. The study, conducted in collaboration with Gallina Blanca Star, is inside the research project on food and health 'Henufood', approved and funded in part by the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation, involving 9 companies and 11 hospitals and research centers in Spain. "This is a comprehensive study on the response of food with the hypothesis that the gastrointestinal tract may be the source of pleasurable sensations. Our goal is to demonstrate that a food, in this case the broth is taken as a model, can improve welfare in both normal conditions and in situations of poor appetite", explains Dr. Azpiroz.
